/ PAST EXHIBITIONS
展覧会には毎回テーマがあり、それに基づいて作品を制作、展覧会を構成します。
テーマを設定することで作品が展開しやすくなりますし、私の思考を提示することができるのではないかと考えています。

My exhibition has a theme every time.
I create my work and exhibition based on it.
Setting a theme,
It becomes easy to make works and it would be able to present my thought to you.

夢ばっかみてる
私は夢ばっかみてる
「～だったらなあ…」「～だったらいいのに」
といった妄想のような小さな夢だ
夢ばっかみてる。と言うと「浮ついた奴だ」と思う人もいるだろう
しかし、夢（妄想）を実現しようとするとき、実に様々な問題に直面する
それはとても現実的な事であり、興味深くある
夢をみる事は、作品制作のプロセスとなっているように思う
私は、夢ばっかみてる
I'm always dreaming.
I dream of little dreams. "I wish... ." "I hope... ." things like that.
I say that I'm always dreaming and some people may think "How dreamy!"
However, when I try to realize a dream, I face various problems.
That's very realistic and interesting for me.
To dream is a process for making works.
I'm a dreamer.

Strange of Happiness
私たちは、幸せは人それぞれだ、と知っているはずだ。
しかし、時々それを忘れて、自分の価値観を他者に押し付けてしまう。
「お金持ちの人は幸せ」
「未婚でいる人は不幸せ」・・・
それは真実だろうか。
私は「幸せ」を作ってみた。
作られた「幸せ」は滑稽に見えないだろうか。
幸せは少し、おかしい。 と思う。
We should know that happiness is depends on person to person.
Everyone has a different happiness.
But, sometimes we forget about it and impose own values on someone.
- The people who have a lot of money are happy.
The people who stay single are unhappy. ...
Are they correct?
I tried to make works "Happiness".
Look, "happiness" looks like funny, doesn't it?
Happiness is a little bit strange, I think.

ゆとりのある教育
Education Has Relaxation and enjoyment
「ゆとり教育」はこどもの学力低下などの問題をひきおこした。それゆえ、私たちは「ゆとり教育」にはネガティブなイメージを持っている。しかし、本来、ゆとりがある。ということは良い事だ。余裕のある状況には何か面白いことが起こりそうな予感がある。
今回、教育にまつわるモチーフで作品を作った。
教育の中にあるゆとりや楽しさを表現できたらと思っている。
"Relaxed education" has caused many problems like the declining academic ability of children.
So, we have a negative image for "Relaxed education".
But, generally, relaxed condition is a good thing.
Relaxed condition makes us expect something interesting and enjoyable thing.
This time I got inspiration from education materials to made works.
I hope to express pleasure of education.

そこに山があるから被る
Put on a Mountain for a Hat Because It's There
山は神聖なものだと考える人たちがいる。
登山で命を落とす人たちがいる。
その一方で山を一種の流行とみなしている人たちがいる。
ハイヒールでトレッキングをする女の子たちがいる。
私にはこの違いが興味深い。
今回、私は「山の帽子」を制作した。
ファッションとしての山、である。気軽に身に付けられる。
There are people who think that mountains are holy.
There are people who lose their lives while climbing mountains.
On the other hand, there are people who regard climbing mountain as a fashionable activity.
There are girls hike with high heel shoes.
I'm interested in that difference.
This time, I made "mountain hats".
These are mountains as fashion.
We can easily put on these mountain as hats.

制作。時々、パン
I Make Art. Sometimes, I Eat Bread.
美術で食べていくのは難しいと言われている。
私もそれは分かっている。しかし、その言葉は私を寂しい気持ちにさせる。
美術でお腹を満たすのは難しいが、心を満たすことはできる。そこで、今回は、この作品、「パン」を作った。
食べられないけれど、鑑賞はできる。
－作品を作る毎日。私は、時々、パンをかじる。
They say that it's difficult to earn a living by making Art.
I've heard that before,but it makes me sad.
It's difficult to fill our stomachs with Art, but art can satisfy our hearts.
So, this time, I made this series,"Bread".
We can't eat this "Bread" but we can enjoy looking at this "Bread".
－I make art every day. Sometimes when I'm taking a break, I eat bread.

パワースポット
Power Spot
このところ、「パワースポット」が人気らしい。
パワースポットを作ったら、人が集まるのだろうか？
そこで、パワースポットを作ってみた。
このパワースポットはたくさんの戦隊ヒーロー（パワーの象徴）でできている。
強そう、でしょう？
It seems that Power spots (spiritual places) are popular lately.
I wondered, "If I make a power spot, will people gather there?"
So, I made the Power spot.
It consists of a lot of Heroes.(Power Rangers)
It looks like strong, doesn't it?

快適なる1/3の人生の為の羊
The Sheep for One Third of Your Comfortable Life
しばしば「眠れない」という話を耳にする。
眠れない人が増えているらしい。
睡眠は人生の1/3を占めると言われている。大切な時間である。
そこで、私は羊を作った。快適な睡眠の為に。
"I can't sleep well" , I often hear such a complaint.
Sleepless people seem to be increasing.
It's said that sleep constitutes one third of our lives.
Sleeping is an important thing for us.
So, I made this work, "The sheep", for your good sleep.

ある日の庭で
One Day, in the Garden
私は東北の出身だ。
3・11の震災は「なぜ作品を作るのか」という意味を考えさせられる機会となった。
「何があっても、作りたいのだ」と思ったとき、私は自身の制作の始まりについて思い至った。
私のものづくりの始まりは庭であった。
絵の具の代わりに植物で描き、粘土の代わりに土を使った。
展示会場にその庭を再現しようと思った。
そして、私はまた制作を続ける。
I was born in the northeast region (Tohoku area) of Japan.
So, the earthquake disaster of 3.11 made me think about meaning of the question, "why do I make art?"
I thought back on the beginnig of my creations when I had thought "Whatever happens I want to continue making art."
My creations began in a garden.
I used plants instead of paints and I used soil in substitution for clay.
I thought I'd like to express my memoriese of that garden
in a gallery.
I'll always continue making art.

Memories of a special day
私は本当におめでたい人間だ。と思う。
私はラジオを聴きながら制作しているのだが、ラジオは毎日のように悲しいニュースを伝えている。それなのに、私は幸せな気持ちで作品を作っているのだ。
今回、幸せそうなのもを制作した。
「胴上げ」「ごちそう」「パーティーの飾りつけ」などだ。
見た人が、おめでたい気持ちになるように。
I'm a really happy person.
I make my art pieces while listening to the radio.
And the radio brings me sad news every day.
However, I make art happily.
This time, I make pieces which look happy,
for example, "Toss", "Feast", or "Party Decorations"...
I hope the people who see my works feel happy.

Swimming Pool
小学生のころ、その体育の授業で、プールに入る前に陸上で水かきの練習をした。
私たちは真剣に、陸上で泳ぐ練習をするのだ。
滑稽であった。
その様子を展示会場に再現したい。と思った。
When I was in elementary school,
I practiced swimming strokes before entering the pool during PE.
My classmates and I did that training together, seriously.
It was funny.
I'd like to express that situation in a gallery.

人事異動
Personnel changes
こどもは箸の持ち方の練習のために、箸で豆をつまみ、皿から皿へと移す。
ということをする。
それはまるで人事異動のようだ、と思った。
Children pick up beans with chopsticks and transfer them from one dish to another, for their training in using chopsticks.
It makes me think of "Personnel changes".

たまごの真相
Truth of Eggs
どこのスーパーマーケットでも、たくさんの卵が積まれている。
セールの日には、1パック100円前後で買えてしまう。
鶏は1日に何個も卵を産めるわけではない。
せいぜい、1個。
と、卵の数ほど、鶏はいるのだ。
そうして、私は卵に生命があることを想った。
Many cartons of eggs are stacked in every supermarket.
On a sale day, you may get a carton of eggs for around 100 yen.
A chicken can not lay many eggs per day.
It does not lay more than one egg a day.
That means, the number of eggs is epual to the unmber of chickens.
And I realized that an egg has life.

アスパラガスの誤解
Misunderstanding of Asparagus
アスパラガスを知っている、と思っていた。
しかし、アスパラガスを育てている人が「アスパラガスは、伸びるのが早い」と言っているのを聞き、私はアスパラガスについて知らないのだ、ということに気が付いた。
しかも、アスパラガスは竹の子のように伸びるだろうと思っていた。
それは誤解であった。
私のこの誤解を表現してみた。
誤解しているのは私だけだろうか？
私たちの日常の中にはたくさんの不思議が潜んでいるにちがいない、と思う。
I had been thinking that I know about asparagus.
But, a person who cultivates asparagus told me "Asparagus grows so quickly!"
That comment made me realize that I didn't know about asparagus.
And then, I wondered if asparagus grows like bamboo shoots.
But, I was wrong.
I expressed this mistake in a work.
Am I the only one to have made this mistake?
Many wonders must hide behind our daily life, I think.
